Program Notes

Paris-Tehran. A rootless story of young love between Gecko, a French hotel bellman and parkourer, and Anahita, an Iranian student forced to leave her country for her own safety after the controversial elections in 2009. Obsessed with tracking the political movement, Anahita's friends broadcast through YouTube and coordinate via Twitter. Romance and the Internet become the ground to explore histories lost and identity yet to be found.

About the Director

DAVID DUSA (1979, Budapest) grew up in Sweden and South Africa, studied film in Göteborg. Dusa worked in a fish factory in Norway & travelled around Asia and Africa. He started making films in 2006. His shorts are awarded in festivals worldwide (UIP Price Rotterdam IFF, Onda Curta Award Vila do Conde, European Film Award, Berlinale Talent Campus, Clermont-Ferrand...). He is currently shooting a feature documentary about the Power of Social Network for Social Change THE REVOLUTION WILL NO BE TWEETED? (shot in Egypt, Lybia, Russia, India, China, France) and prepares CACHEUX MALOR his 2nd feature, a coming of age story leading to Revolution (developed with the support of Binger Filmlab, Script &Pitch, CineMart, Media Development).
